I was saved by God’s wonderful Grace on Sunday evening, September 11, 1960, at Bible Baptist Church of Summerside in Mt. Carmel, Ohio. I was baptized by Pastor Bruce Woodruff a couple of weeks later. In early November 1960 God called me to preach and I preached my first sermon at City Gospel Mission Cincinnati, Ohio in December of that year.
I met Mary Ann at Bible Baptist Church and within in ten months I was off to Bible College in Springfield, Mo. Mary Ann and I were engaged in December 1961, married in June 1962 and then back to Springfield for the 1962-63 school year. The following year we moved to Laurel, Indiana where God called me to pastor. In June of 1964 we moved back to Cincinnati where I began preaching at Faith Baptist Church in Williamsburg, Ohio and was called to pastor in October of 1964. The church relocated, built a new building, added a Sunday school wing, and later built a Christian School building with a full-size gym. We had the privilege of serving the Lord there for 43 years and during those years God blessed us with three sons Curtis, Kevin and Michael.
We left Faith Baptist in March 2009 after a heart attack and open-heart surgery. It was after many weeks of recovery God opened an entirely new avenue of ministry. I served as Interim Pastor of Purity Baptist in Old Washington, Ky for six months until the church called a pastor. In the fall of 2009, I was asked to serve as interim at Twinbrook Hills Baptist Church, Hamilton, Ohio; little did we know that it would last for 5 years.
The Lord had somewhere else for us to serve Morning Star Baptist Church in West Chester, Ohio was without a pastor and after supplying for several weeks called me as pastor. Then on March 19, 2023, Morning Star Baptist Church and The Twinbrook Hills Baptist Church merged and unanimously called me as pastor.
What a joy and privilege it is to be serving our Lord Jesus Christ with a group of people who love and serve Him with such willing hearts as we wait for His calling for us in the Rapture.
